OOTD Warranty Policy

1. Coverage

OOTD provides warranty coverage for manufacturing defects on all new scooters for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase. If a defect is confirmed to be manufacturing-related, OOTD will cover repair costs including parts and labor as set out in this policy.

2. Parts-First Repair Approach

  • Parts-First (preferred): In most cases, OOTD will resolve warranty issues by shipping replacement parts free of charge and providing installation guidance. This approach avoids the cost, time and risk of returning the full scooter.
  • Return for Repair (last resort): A complete scooter return for repair will only be considered if replacement parts cannot resolve the defect. In such cases, OOTD will coordinate with the customer, but the preferred method remains parts replacement and remote guidance.
  • No third-party invoice reimbursement: OOTD does not accept or reimburse invoices from customer-selected third-party repair shops. Unauthorized repairs or modifications will void the warranty. This aligns with EU consumer protection rules (Directive 1999/44/EC).
  • One-time replacement: Each covered component is eligible for one free replacement during its warranty period.

3. Who is Covered

The warranty applies only to the original purchaser who bought the product from the official OOTD website. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

4. Shipping Damage

Customers are advised to inspect the scooter upon delivery, preferably in the presence of the delivery person. Any shipping damage should be reported to OOTD within 7 days of delivery as the recommended reporting period. Reports after this period are still accepted within the legal 14-day window but may require additional verification. OOTD will replace parts damaged in transit at no cost if reported in time.

5. Warranty Claim Process

  1. Send clear photos and/or video evidence of the defect together with your order number to support@o-otd.com or sophie@o-otd.com.
  2. Our support and technical team will review the evidence and respond with a proposed solution within 1–10 business days.
  3. If the issue is covered, OOTD will ship replacement parts free of charge (one-time per component) and provide remote installation guidance if required.
  4. If replacement parts do not resolve the defect, OOTD will assess whether a full scooter return for repair is necessary. The preferred method remains parts replacement and remote guidance.

6. Shipping of Replacement Parts

Replacement parts covered under warranty are shipped based on part size and weight via major carriers such as UPS, FedEx, or DHL. Expedited/express shipping is not provided as a standard warranty service. Typical delivery time is approximately 3–10 business days depending on destination and carrier. Some parts may be shipped from China via sea freight (up to 15 days) or from Poland (as fast as 3 days), depending on availability.

7. Exclusions – When the Warranty Does NOT Apply

  • Products purchased second-hand or from unauthorized channels.
  • Normal wear and tear (e.g., tires, inner tubes, brake pads, brake rotors, grips, cosmetic scuffs).
  • Damage resulting from accidents, collisions, misuse, neglect, overloading, theft, or vandalism.
  • Damage caused by environmental conditions such as acid rain, volcanic ash, salt spray/coastal corrosion, bird droppings, hail, prolonged UV exposure, snowstorms, desert heat, or other extreme conditions.
  • Water immersion or prolonged exposure to heavy rain or flooding.
  • Unauthorized modifications, firmware/electronic changes, or repairs not authorized by OOTD.
  • Battery damage resulting from improper maintenance, misuse, or immersion in liquid.

8. Warranty Parts & Periods

Each listed component is eligible for the stated warranty period and for one free replacement during that period:

Important: Each component is eligible for one free replacement during its warranty period. Additional replacements or items outside warranty may be obtained as paid parts.
